CAMP WEEK 8 See you all tomorrow

Off to camp we go.  Remember, double check the gear list to make sure you have everything you need.  Please arrive at school between 7.30 and 7.45 tomorrow

Things people most often forget - water bottle, hat, sunblock. 
Things people sometimes forget - sleeping bag (yes!), sturdy shoes for walking, pyjamas.

Rotorua Pasifika Flava 2018 Event at the Lake Front this coming Saturday 24th March.  Starts at 10am and finishes 2pm.  There will be schools performing Pacific dance and songs including our very own St Mary's Pasifika group.  Please come and support.  There will be food stalls available and all proceeds raised on the day will go to those affected by cyclone Gita in Tonga.

Some camp reminders:

Students should be able to carry their own bag.
No fizzy, lollies, phones, devices - normal school rules apply. 
Children do not need to bring money, they will not have the opportunity to use it.

This Tuesday (13 March) our Swimming Sports will be held at the Rotorua Aquatic Centre on Tarewa Road in Rotorua.

Here is some information:
  • The swimming sports is for our middle and senior school students - Years 3, 4, 5 & 6.
  • The swimming sports will be held at the Rotorua Aquatic Centre on Tarewa Road in Rotorua.
  • Years 3 – 6 students need to be dropped off at the Aquatic Centre on the day to meet their teacher by 8:45am.
  • Swimming sports will finish at approximately 2:30pm. Children need to be collected from the Aquatic Centre by 3:00pm at the latest.
  • Children may come to swimming sports in their house colours. They may wear their swimming togs under their clothes.
  • Children will need – togs & towels, sunhat, sunblock, warm clothes, lunch & a drink.There will be NO sausage sizzle at the swimming sports this year. Children need to bring their lunch and a drink.
  • Should the event need to be cancelled, this information will be put on our website by 7:30am on the day, and a notification sent via Facebook, Twitter and the school phone app.

Information to Parents & Caregivers


Points to note:
  • The programme below is for our middle and senior school students - Years 3, 4, 5 & 6.

Weekly notices T1 Week 5

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE for those children who have not returned medical forms for camp PLEASE return them by Tuesday at the latest. These forms need to be collated asap and as you can imagine 140 of them takes a fair bit of work after school. 

NO swimming for the next two weeks. We resume lessons in Week 7. 

Do you have any newspaper at home?? We are very short and it is particularly useful during art sessions. 

St Mary’s Bike to School Day 

On Friday 9th March we will be having our ‘Bike to School Day’. Mr James, Mrs Nelson, Mrs Cato and Mrs Holmes will meet some children at the bowling club on Lytton Street between 8:10 and 8:20 a.m.
Once assembled and ready with their bikes/scooters and helmets on they will cycle to school. They will be met by Mrs Todd and Mrs Dobson at the Carnot Street gate entrance. The children will be directed to the courts to store their bikes. Parents are welcome to ride along too!
